When: June 2022 - July 2023
Once upon a time, after covid hitting everyone hard, remote tech jobs are in uprising. During my job seeking journey after graduating college, many job offers and rejections, this is my first full-time job as a Full Stack Developer. It was a new startup that was grown from a software house small-project into a startup scale project.
Intro
The story begun when my close friend in college asked me if i was unemployed or not, since I was applying here and there. Good thing is I hadn’t taken any job offers that given to me (there were some offers but the pay was somewhat joke?). So decided to join the startup and at least the pay is good for a fresh graduate.
That’s me, joined a startup as a Full Stack Developer, working on Flutter and Laravel projects, even though I was working more on Flutter than the Laravel one.
Technical
Since I was diving into Flutter development more than the Laravel counterparts, i can’t really tell what was my colleagues work on the backend and admin areas. Hence I will write technical side of our Flutter app.
As a startup, we have daily stand-ups and weekly meeting, real startup experience! With agile system(?), these occasional meetings are important that we can track each other task and then what we could follow up personally later with huddle. Yes, we used Slack, it is a cool app tbh.
Technical documents were written in Confluence, and we used Bitbucket for the git repositories (yea, we literally used all the Atlassian products), they are real game changer since all are connected and really easy to navigate.
After all, we chose Flutter as our programming framework since the versatility of publishing the app into Android or Apple ecosystems. Having native-like performance is a matter since we tried to build a enterprise level application. BLoC chosen as the state management, a real game changer than Flutter messy setState().
